Not a retinol person

I think this is a good product overall. The dispenser works well, making it easy to control how much product comes out, and the formula applies smoothly. I switched to this retinol from another brand, hoping my skin would tolerate it better. Unfortunately, I still experience significant dryness and peeling, regardless of how much moisturizer I use. While the product itself seems effective and well-designed, I may need to switch to a gentler option that works better for my skin. Overall, it's a quality product, but it may not be the right fit for those with sensitive skin

Too Harsh

While I am a 1% retinol user for the past 8 years, I've never experienced the harshness of this product's effect on my skin. Small red spots appear and it takes several days for them to disappear. While retinol absolutely makes the skin smooth (does not affect larger wrinkles, say around the mouth), having to endure this skin damage has never been my experience with any other pharmaceutical 1% retinol. I only tried this one because the one I've used in the past is routinely out of stock. I have found that the fewer ingredients there are in a product, besides the most important one, in this case, retinol, the better. I am now mixing this product with a cheaper facial moisturizing lotion. (PM). That helps but not with the red spots. So unless you want a face that feels dry and irritated in the morning with a red spot or two when you look in the mirror, this one's not for you. I realize that my skin has gotten dryer as I age (but I get unsolicited compliments on the smoothness of it), but dropping down to 5% retinol is not in my plan. Back to my old standby!!
