I have been using Skin Medica Total Defense Repair SPF 34 for several years now. It layers well over serums and moisturizer. I love that it leaves a non-shiny, velvety finish on my skin that is not sticky at all. Because I live in the south and need a higher SPF during warmer months, I use this product every day from late fall to early spring and a different product during warmer months. I wish SM hadn't discontinued the tinted version. I loved layering the tinted version over the untinted version instead of wearing make up. I contacted SM, and they recommended a different tinted SPF but in my opinion, it isn't as compatible. Because of the high price of this product and the fact that the untinted version is no longer available, I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5

When I wear SPF its usually when I'm going on a walk and/or exercising outside. I tend to get some sort of breakout from this product, but it could be also exercise/sweat, etc. May just be a me thing. It does a nice job of sun protection. I typically use a tinted SPF from ILIA for my daily and casual foundation

I usually love skinmedica products – but this one had to go back. It was very, very drying on my skin. There is no way you can use this in place of a moisuturizer and I'm merely dry to t-zone combo skin. I would not pay for a sunscreen at this price point if you still have to use a moisturizer instead
